What's going on with a burned toast?

Was soll auch schon passieren?

Today I'm going to tell you something, that happened to me last Wednesday (3/10). It had just been a regular day. My hostparents and Patrick left the house by 8 am. I went to get the girls out of their room. Since, they're used to watch some TV in the morning I put a video in. Sophie asked me if she could have toast for breakfast. So I went into the kitchen and put some in. But before I did that, I turned down the heat a little bit. After that I had to go to the bathroom. I just thought to myself what should happen? The toast could pop up but that would be it.
When I left the bathroom the Security Alarm started. "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE Sensor 47!" It was so loud.
First of all I put the stinky and smoky toaster outside. Then I was trying to call my hostdad, to give me a code for the security system. But the phone was dead. So I had to get my cellphone and call him. Unfortunately he was not answering. So I called my hostmom. She told me the code that I had to put in and that I probably would get a visit from the fire company. I put the code in and the house alarm stopped but the smoke detector was still making noise, he stopped after an extra 10 min.
Afterward I opened all the doors and windows so the smoke could go out. After that I stood by the front door to wait fort the fire trucks to arrive. It was kind of funny to watch the cars on the highway next to our house make room for the fire trucks so they could come through. I told them that I had burned my toast. 3 of them came in to check that everything is fine. They also told me to open some more windows on the 2. and 3. floor. Because the smoke that was still in the house could start a new alarm.
This accident had one good thing for me, now I know that if I am in a bad situation I am not loosing my language. Which was my worst nightmare, that I could use my language and can't tell people what happened.
Later on the Security Firm called and asked me for a password. I had to think for a couple seconds before I could answer. Well, that's what happened to me last Wednesday. I just hope that my hostparents don't have to pay for all that.
